Every size is the same product: your photo UV printed onto a 25mm thick wooden bloc that stands on its own, with no frame and a non-slip base. This guide explains which photos suit each size, then covers finishes, photo quality and delivery.
Photo block sizes and prices at a glance
There are four photo block sizes. The square 5x5 and the rectangular 6x4 are £13.99, the 7x5 is £14.99 and the 8x6, the largest, is £15.99. The three rectangular sizes work with either landscape or portrait photos.

Only £2 separates the cheapest size from the largest, so it usually makes sense to choose by the photo rather than the price.
Which size photo block should you choose?
Match the size to the shape of your photo and the number of people in it. Square phone photos and pets suit the 5x5, classic prints suit the 6x4, portraits and couples suit the 7x5, and group shots or wide scenes need the extra room of the 8x6.
5x5: square photos, pets and close-ups
The 5x5 photo block suits photos taken in your phone's square mode or pictures that crop neatly to a square. A pet looking at the camera, a baby's face or a head-and-shoulders portrait fills a square well. It sits comfortably on a desk or bedside table, and a few 5x5 blocs in a row make a tidy display.
6x4: the classic print shape
The 6x4 photo block is the same shape as a standard 6x4 print, which is also the shape many dedicated cameras shoot in. That makes it a natural choice for a scanned print or any photo you would normally have printed at 6x4, with very little of the picture lost.
7x5: portraits and couples
The 7x5 photo block gives one or two people more presence than the smaller sizes. In portrait orientation it suits a single portrait, a couple or an engagement shot; turned landscape, it fits two or three people side by side. It is a good fit for wedding gifts and anniversary gifts.
8x6: family groups and landscapes
The 8x6 photo block is the largest size. In a group photo each face takes up only a small part of the picture, so the extra space keeps everyone recognisable. It also suits wide scenes such as beaches, hills and city views. Many phone cameras shoot in a 4:3 shape by default, the same shape as 8x6, so an uncropped phone photo usually fits well.
How to get a sharp print from your photo
The sharpest photo blocks come from the original, full-resolution photo. Screenshots and copies sent through messaging apps are often reduced in size or compressed, which can make a print look soft or blocky, particularly on the larger 7x5 and 8x6 blocs.
This general advice applies to any printed photo:
- Upload the original file from your camera roll or memory card, not a screenshot.
- Ask for the full-size file if someone sent you the photo in a messaging app, for example by email or a file-sharing link.
- Zoom in on the faces. If they look blurry or pixelated on screen, they are likely to look the same when printed. Try a smaller size or another photo.
- Scan old prints carefully. Lay the print flat in good, even light and avoid glare.

Edge finishes: Black, Oak, Walnut and White
Every photo block size is available with four edge finishes: Black, Oak, Walnut and White. The finish is the colour of the bloc's edges, so it borders your photo without a frame and helps the bloc suit your room.
- Black is crisp and modern, and suits black-and-white or high-contrast photos.
- Oak is a warm, lighter wood tone that suits most homes and natural, outdoor scenes.
- Walnut is a darker, richer wood tone for warm-toned photos and traditional rooms.
- White is clean and light, and suits bright photos, baby photos and pale shelves.

Delivery costs and times
Every photo block is made to order in 3–5 working days before dispatch. Standard UK delivery then takes 3–5 working days and costs £3.99, or is free on orders over £50. Express delivery takes 1–2 working days after dispatch and costs £7.99.

Because each bloc is personalised, we cannot accept returns if you change your mind, so check the size and preview before ordering. If a bloc arrives damaged or misprinted, tell us within 14 days and we will replace it or refund you. Which photo block size is best for a gift?
It depends on the photo rather than the occasion. A 5x5 or 6x4 at £13.99 works well for a single face, a pet or a small desk. For a couple, the 7x5 at £14.99 gives them more presence. For a family group or a holiday view, choose the 8x6 at £15.99 so nobody ends up too small to recognise.
Can I use a photo from my phone?
Yes. Upload the original photo from your camera roll in the online designer, then check the 3D preview before ordering. Avoid screenshots and copies saved from messaging apps, as they are often compressed and can print less sharply. Photos taken in a 4:3 shape, a common phone default, fit the 8x6 with little cropping, while square photos suit the 5x5.
Do the 6x4, 7x5 and 8x6 photo blocks come in portrait?
Yes. The three rectangular sizes work in either landscape or portrait orientation, so choose whichever matches your photo. Portrait suits a single person or a couple standing together, while landscape suits groups, pets stretched out on a sofa and scenery. The 5x5 is square, so orientation does not apply, and every size stands on its own.
How much is delivery on a photo block?
Standard UK delivery costs £3.99 and takes 3–5 working days after dispatch. It is free on orders over £50, for example four 5x5 blocs at £55.96. Express delivery costs £7.99 and takes 1–2 working days after dispatch. In both cases, add the 3–5 working days it takes to make your bloc before it is dispatched.
How long does a photo block take to arrive?
Allow 3–5 working days for us to make your bloc, then 3–5 working days for Standard UK delivery, so 6 to 10 working days in total. With Express delivery it is 1–2 working days after dispatch, so 4 to 7 working days in total. Delivery times are estimates, so leave extra time if you need it by a particular date.
